Superior Alder- looks like Cherry somewhat and is considered very a high quality wood species that stains well with any stain light, medium or dark. This wood species may have very small pin knots, the size of a pencil eraser or smaller. However, if you find a pin knot you will love it, the small knots give the Alder a nature beauty. Any stain color brings to life the beauty of this unfinished door.
